Distilled white vinegar has a clear color while apple cider vinegar has dark brown color since it is apple based. If your wood floor is laminated vinegar is an ideal cleaning product because it won t strip the wax off floors like ammonia will.

Vinegar is ideal when it comes to mopping hard surfaces made of materials like tiles vinyl and laminate. Use a slightly damp mop. Dip a sponge mop into the solution squeezing out excess. Don t use vinegar on natural stone because it can leave behind stains.

So if you normally mop with the old fashioned string mop and bucket throw those out or at least avoid using them on your laminate flooring. Apple cider vinegar has many functions but it is not suitable for cleaning laminate floors. Make sure that you properly vacuum your floor before you start mopping. Mix 1 cup household vinegar with 1 gallon warm water.

To make a vinegar cleaner for laminate floors add 1 2 white vinegar to a gallon of warm water in a bucket. If you have a hardwood or laminated wood floor use white vinegar and stay away from your mop as it could contain residue from other cleaners that would not allow the vinegar to have its full effect. The trick is not to overdo it with the excessive moisture.
